Welcome!

My name is Frankie Ponce or as my live broadcast viewers know me as “HorrorPapi.”

I am an actor and content creator on various platforms from Los Angeles, California.

Ever since I was a little boy, I remember peeking at the television when I wasn’t supposed to be watching and catching glimpses of the horror movies that would define who I am as a person today. While the depictions terrified me as a child, I could not look away and in fact I wanted to see more and more. Being an 80s baby, I grew up in the peak of the “slasher” era with slasher franchises like Halloween, Friday the 13th, Child’s Play, Puppet Master, Nightmare on Elm Street, Hellraiser and many more.

As I got older I started to realize what it was that drew me into these films, the “movie magic.” I was fascinated by seeing the complexity of some of these characters and the details of the macabre scenes. How did they pull this off? Looking into is as a teenager is what got me into costuming and practical makeup effects for the seasonal Halloween (my birthday week). I wanted to recreate some of these looks and make my own!

Naturally when you create, you want to take photos or video of your creations and that’s exactly what I did. I started to make mini home made horror movies and just delved deeper into the art of the horror entertainment industry. I wanted to take things to the next level and get serious about pursuing this. I wanted to know what real sets were like, how real makeup artists work, how real actors play these amazing creatures.

After some quick online research, I started submitting to castings online. Unfortunately for me, the castings for horror were nearly non-existent. But, that would not deter me, I still wanted to know everything there was about a production.

I hit a roadblock though, with no prior experience and a poor headshot, I was going nowhere fast. Nobody would reply to me, nobody would take a chance on me. That is until I happened to see a particular listing. This casting would require me to dance at a sports game in a film and they were looking for extra dancers. I was in luck! I happened to be breakdancing since I was in middle school for recreational activity so I submitted with those details and voila, my first booking! I was excited and I even got to meet Will Ferrell on my first job ever, how cool is that?!

I continued to book other projects as a dancer and before I knew it, I got bit by the showbizz bug. I wanted to be more involved on set, and I started taking acting classes to develop as an actor. That’s been my journey since. I would love to eventually direct my own horror inspired film or series one day but I am also loving the path and challenges I get with every new part.

Live Broadcasting

Video games have also been an aspect of my life since childhood and I continue exploring these online virtual worlds to this day.

I started broadcasting live while I played video games or other live events on December 15th, 2018 as a way of helping me improve my social interactions since networking is a big aspect of your acting growth and growth as a person of the community.

Family

I have a lovely beautiful wife whom I’ve been married to since September 22nd of 2018, a 13 year old step-son and my 1 year old baby boy. We are huge Disney fans and we regularly visit Disneyland as Annual Passholders. You can also find us visiting many of the places Los Angeles has to offer in our weekend family excursions.
